Gil Johnson is responsible for providing Business Operations, CIO and IT advisory services to small and middle market organizations for Liberty Technology Advisors, LLC. He has over 30 years experience in business and information technology. Gil is a Senior Information Services Executive with strong general management perspective and experience and has substantial involvement in corporate policy formulation and business process transformation addressing domestic and international issues. Gil exercises sound business judgment coupled with a common sense approach to information technology as a strategic business tool. He also has an extensive background in strategic planning, business process transformation and development of supporting technology plans. As a senior consultant Gil has focused on Middle Market, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Service and Consumer Products industries. Gil also has had extensive involvement in IT and Business Alignment restructuring.
Gil Johnson is a former Partner with the Ft. Sheridan Group LLC where he was responsible for for IT Alignment programs and IT outsourcing initiatives.. The Ft. Sheridan Group, LLC was a Management Consultancy providing CIO advisoryservices and high-level information technology advisory services to small and middle market sized companies. He is the former President of Johnson and Associates LLC., a Management Consulting firm focused on IT alignment and interim CIO level project staffing. Prior to this Gil held senior information services executive positions with Helene Curtis, Motorola-Nortel, Octec Communications and Chemplec Corp. Industry experience includes: consumer products, discrete and process manufacturing, high technology manufacturing and distribution.
At Liberty Technology Advisors Mr. Johnson has:
• Led the business transformation and process re-design for a middle market custom manufacturer of high tech electronic signs and stadium scoreboards.
• He then lead the ERP software evaluation and selection and implementation and re-casting of the information services function. At Ft. Sheridan Group Mr. Johnson has:
• Participated in an IT alignment program for a middle market consumer products company that was faced with post merger integration issues.
• Provided management direction andsupport for the planning and negotiation of an outsourcing program for a $5bl multi-national manufacturer of automotive ride control and emissions systems.
• Provided analysis, recommendations and direction for the complete re-structuring of a private company focused on technology infrastructure construction, implementation, and services for many of the nations largest retailers.
• Provided Information Services strategic planning support for a privately held consumer audio company
• Successfully completed an executive search for a CIO for a mid-sized business services company. At Johnson and Assoc. LLC. Mr. Johnson has:
• Provided business operations support, strategic planning, business operations planning and design and implementation for an ASP ( Software Development and Operations) subsidiary of a $3bl provider of packaged vacation travel services.
• Provided IT restructuring support for a manufacturer of high end personal audio devices.
• Provided support for the re-structuring of a high tech manufacturer of personal electronic devices.
• Functioned as interim Chief Operating Officer and directed a restructuring of a manufacturer of custom ATM devices for banking and credit unions..
• Provided direction for the development of a business continuity plan for an SAP implementation for a mid market manuacturer of industrial fastners.
• Provided direction and support for the restructuring of multiple Information Services functions in manufacturing and distribution.
• Provided direction for the implementation of multiple Call Center management functions for a personal electronice and a personal audio company.
• Provided direction for the development of three Information Services strategic plans for manufcturing and distribution organizations.
• Negotiated a multimillion dollar PeopleSoft systems integration and business transformation agreement, and developed the implementation strategy and plan for a large automobile and truck rental company.
• Implemented multiple CRM initiatives in manufacturing and distribution.
As an Industry Chief Information Officer Mr. Johnson has been:
• Responsible for Information Services Technologies and Planning including design and direction of Information Service Strategic Planning, international consumer products manufacturer.
• Managed the restructuring of multiple international Information Services processes.
• Directed the acquisition and implementation of SAP software suite including business process reengineering.
• Designed multiple data warehouse and Business Intelligence functions.
• Provided direction for EDI and Electronic Commerce.
• In a technology manufaturing organization introduced, developed and managed the implementation of business infrastructure processes and customer support processes affecting sales, product configuration and quotation management, finance and customer engineering support and electronic commerce.
• In a 450 location parts distribution company directed the design and implementation of distribution management software supporting order management, finance and accounting, purchasing and customer resource management and marketing support. This also required the integration and rollup of 20 acquired organizations.
• Directed the design and implementation of a domestic and international local/wide area network.
• Implemented and managed remote office locations in Latin America , Erope and Asia Pacfic.
• Directed the implementation of multiple ERP applicatins suites in manufacturing organizations.
• Implemented a CRM and sales force automation system providing worldwide accessibility.
• Implemented a field service management system in 17 remote support locations.
